Skilling Africa: iTechlab Opens Doors with Free Microsoft Certifications

iTechlab is offering free Microsoft Certifications as part of its CSR initiative to build a digitally skilled generation. Through Microsoft Learn, we’re empowering youth, job seekers, and professionals with globally recognized tech skills, creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and national impact.

As part of our ongoing commitment to empowering communities through technology, iTechlab Group has launched a groundbreaking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative offering free Microsoft Certifications to young people, professionals, and job seekers across Zimbabwe and the region.

This program, delivered through the globally respected Microsoft Learn platform, allows participants to upskill in cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science, AI, and business applications — all for free. The goal is simple yet powerful: unlock opportunities, build employability, and help Africa become a digital leader in the global tech economy.

"Our mission is to be a beacon of hope to all nations by solving their problems through technology," said Panashe Chigunwe, CEO of iTechlab Group. "Through this CSR program, we are investing in human capital, not just handing out certificates — but unlocking futures."

🌍 Building a Skilled and Inclusive Workforce

The program focuses on inclusive access. From high school graduates to unemployed youth, iTechlab is creating a direct pathway for learners to gain:

  • Microsoft Fundamentals and Associate certifications

  • Guidance and mentorship from iTechlab HR and trainers

  • Eligibility for internships, consultancy work, or full-time roles within the group

Participants who excel may be onboarded into projects, placed in partner companies, or given priority in future iTechlab initiatives. The top performers are also encouraged to give back, either by mentoring new learners or making voluntary contributions once they secure employment — ensuring the program grows sustainably.

📚 How It Works

Learners register through a structured form and receive:

  • Access to selected Microsoft Learn paths

  • Tracking and accountability support from iTechlab HR

  • Exam sponsorships (for those who qualify)

  • Internal certificates of completion before sitting for the global exams

Seats are limited and offered to those who commit to completing their path. Those unable to finish are asked to release their spot for others.

🤝 A Long-Term Vision for Impact

This CSR program is more than training. It’s a seed planted for a skilled digital Africa, starting with Zimbabwe.

iTechlab envisions this growing into a regional movement, with community learning hubs, remote exam labs, and homegrown certified professionals who are ready to compete globally.

“We are not just upskilling for jobs. We are creating leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators — and this is only the beginning,” added Chigunwe.
